KIT OR TURNKEY DUAL REAR SEAT (Single rear seat optional) PAGE 1 Perfect for the family and Tour Operators
|
This is an excellent touring trike and available with a single or dual rear seat. The Sports version only differs from the Deluxe in that it doesn't have the front fairing. Front screen is optional on both. You can fit a VW motor and gearbox or a Subaru motor matched to a VW gearbox. There's a number of options available including fibreglass or checker plate running boards.
About the luggage compartment. Why don't we use a [high] topbox ?.
The higher the trike (and rear passenger) the more likely it is to get a sway up especially if the shockies are a bit worn. We prefer to put the luggage compartment low to help stop that problem. We also put the main fuel tank up front (and not over the motor at the rear) to help keep weight on the front wheel. This also allows the passenger to sit lower out of the wind.
As long as you have the front end set up correctly it stands to reason that the lower the centre of gravity the better the trike will handle, especially on the twisty bits. Note the riders seat is nice and upright giving good back support. This helps to ease uncomfortable stress on the 'nuts' on long rides as it is a more natural seating position.
Following pics of the 'Overlander' body show various bits that have been fibreglassed into one unit which is now an option. Separate body bits are here [use your back forward browser arrows to get back here]

Four pics show a 'Overlander' Sports kit with 03/SA frame with Disc brakes. Guards have been widened to take the Ding Bob 15x10" chrome rear wheels. PROLINK leading link front end. Motor will be a Subaru [matched to a VW gearbox] so the Ding Bob 'purpose built' radiator is up front nice and neat. Clutch and brake pedals are fitted, as is the fuel tank. This is the single rear seat version. |

| Left and above. KIT is the Overlander deluxe single rear seat [with back rest modification]. Guards to take standard 15x7" rims. Front fairing [shown] not in correct position [as it is a separate piece] but gives you an idea. VW Motor and gearbox. Frame is our 03/SA. Front end is our PROLINK leading link. | ||

Lets start from the beginning with the one. Note that the frame used in the following pics is our 03/TB with the VW torsion bar setup. We no longer use this frame as we have the newer and lighter 03/SA swing arm frame. |

WORK on Dual seats for the Aussie Overlander VW Kit. Frame is already tried, true and Ok with the licencing people known as God. As you can see we split the popular single rear seat and stuck a bit in the middle of this one. Buggered up a good seat actually.

Here we're playing about in the Fibreglass area until 'hey presto' ready to go. Another Kit Bit.
There are some hidden benefits
with the Overlander series. One of them is that you can't see the motor. If you want to see the motor go for our "Aussie Weekender" hereMike forgot to put out his cigarette
again.
