DING BOB TRIKES AUSTRALIA

A LITTLE BEAUTY.

Aussie Weekender with custom seats for the Bloody Paraplegic.

Right. Front seat is set up for the Bloody Paraplegic.

This BODY style is for those who want a trike that is closer to a bike.

     9 Pics below.

Available as a Turnkey trike (we build it to licencing stage) or as a Kit (you assemble it).

We wanted a simple design to fit our NEW model 03/SA (swing arm) frame and be able to utilize readily available Harley Davidson and VW parts.

We have achieved that with the 'Aussie Weekender'.

VW or Subaru engine optional.

"The only real difference is that the seats don't have back rests"

This style of trike is not for the person who wants to REGULARLY travel REALLY REALLY LONG DISTANCES with a passenger - and do it in comfort. You can do it - just not as comfortably (although you will have more money left over from the purchase price to stay in hotels). But on saying that the ride is certainly as comfortable over the bumps as any other make of VW trike available in Australia - or anywhere else for that matter.

The only real difference is that the seats don't have back rests. (Yes you can fit a back rest to the rear seat just like you can on a a bike).

errrrr... we did put a back rest on The Bloody Paraplegic's trike (pics here) and can do the same for anyone else who needs/likes the back support.

If you are serious about cruising LONG distances in comfort then our 'Aussie Overlander' series is for you as it is designed with both the passenger(s) and rider's comfort in mind.

There is 'no one trike' designed to do all jobs. Motorcycle's can't [nor can cars or trucks] and it's the same with trikes. We are telling you straight up that this seating arrangement is more for 'fun' beach or pub crawling with the occasional run to nowhere over a lost long weekend.

With that in mind we designed it so that you can use a stock Harley Davidson seat. Harley Davidson front end and Harley Davidson forward controls. Like all of our frames it will also take our PROLINK leading Link front end.

front end is Harley

The PROLINK leading link front end will give you a better handling trike in most if not all conditions.

(left) FRONT END shown is Harley Davidson with 5 degree rake on the tree. (That much is NOT recommended for motorcycles). Frame head is the standard x degrees on the Weekender frame.

**Note. If you already have a different front end that you want to use then that is also OK. We can help you with that.

The width (and shape) of the front tyre is also important but if you want to use telescopic forks and a skinny front tyre this is the trike to do it on. Look at this model as you would a Harley day tripper compared to a big Honda cruiser. Most 15X10" Rims (Ford stud pattern) will fit on the back.

The Aussie Weekender is an excellent kit and a serious chick hunter. When the tables get turned and you become the hunted and succumb to the kids bit you can change the body style and add on a few back seats (trade it in for a dual rear seat 'Aussie Overlander' body) without having to get rid of the frame - front end or running gear. You just lift it off and put another one on. Well it's nearly that easy. You would need running boards and a carrier frame.

How hard is that. Neat ay !

This trike is low and wide which means it handles unbelievably well. It is also very light which means it goes like buggery too. We love it and think you will too.

Below and Right: Harley Davidson seat and our PROLINK leading link front end on the standard frame head angle.

Front cowl/cover not shown on these two pics. Note how raked it 'looks' without it. As on some other trikes it gives the 'impression' that the front is actually raked more than it is. If you want this look we can make up a flat cover for the front for you. That's not a problem.

Click for a bigger pic which shows an optional custom VW set-up > Weekender rear set up on the Bloody Paraplegic's trike using a type 3 VW engine and Auto gearbox

It is basically a one piece body with a front scoop/cover so it is very easy to put together as a kit.

Motor. Your choice.

VW Automatic or Manual or 1600 - 1800cc Subaru motor [E81 - E82] mated to a VW gearbox.
