IMPORTANT READING.

Help make the load lighter with a Ding Bob leading link.

Leading link front ends have been around for years so we don’t really know who originally came up with the idea. BMW built a factory unit for their R50 and R69’s in 1955 and Sidecar riders have been building all kinds of leading links for years for Road, Motocross and Speedway racing. (If you can give us some info on where the original concept came from we would be happy to hear from you. Email Ding Bob)

In 1992 Ding Bob Trikes adapted a design of a leading link front end for a client who wanted a Motorcycle converted to a Trike.

Because he only had one arm he needed a front end that was lighter and easier to steer than the telescopic forks.

Sure, we call ours a Ding Bob design but only in as much as it is an adaptation of an original concept. It works well on our Motorcycle and Automotive engined Trikes.

The unit was inspected by an engineer and approved by the Licensing Department for use on the road.

In 1994 this same rider came to grief and the impact destroyed the Trike but the front end stood up to the impact. IT DID NOT BREAK.

We have built a large number since and when they are used in the manner they are designed for they have proven faultless. We have never had a problem.

We have never supplied our Leading Link front end in a kit form but ONLY AS A COMPLETED PRODUCT using our own qualified welders.

There has been a case of a design such as ours fitted to a Trike in Western Australia failing at a welded area. This welding was done by the owner of the Trike and not by us.

We became aware of the welding fault after the owner contacted the Licensing Department claiming that the Leading Link front end was suspect.

The Licensing Authorities then contacted us and although we did not build or supply any components for this particular front end we felt it important enough to recall a number of units to check if there was any chance of there being a fault in the design or manufacture of our Leading Links.

The Licensing Department was happy with the result of the tests and no further action was required.

We can’t stress enough the importance of having qualified people work on the high load areas of your Trike because if it is done incorrectly then you are going to get into trouble. DON’T TAKE THE RISK.

Ding Bob designed PROLINK leading link front end.

Possibly the best handling trike front end for most conditions that you will find.

Leading Link.  Proven Ding Bob Trikes Design for those who like to Cruise in Comfort.

It doesn't matter how much work you put into the frame and other components.

If the front end is not set up correctly all that effort and cost is wasted.

With this front end you get a nice smooth ride. No jarring or wobbles, and you can turn the front wheel left and right with your little finger. More here

We also machine our own neck and supply a top and bottom bearing kit to suit.

Just a quick note here, and one that I hoped I would never have to bring up.

We are aware that copies of our FRONT ENDS and other Trike Kit Bits are being made and sold here in Western Australia. Body copies may not do you any physical harm. Copies of our front ends and frame parts can if they aren't assembled correctly or if the welding is not up to scratch. See story and pics up top.

On top of that you may not be able to get the Trike registered for road use.

Please be aware of this and if you are not sure - about anything to do with Trikes - just phone me obligation free in Western Australia on (08) 9410 2296.
Question. Do you have to have a VIN (vehicle identification number. Answer. here
