AN EXAMPLE OF HOW WE DO IT

THIS IS WHERE THE CONVERSIONS GET DONE

Go to the Trikes Gallery for completed Trikes.

We do conversions for the following makes of motorcycles.

HARLEY - HONDA - BMW - MOTO GUZZI - KAWASAKI - YAMAHA - SUZUKI  - OTHERS

Chain - belt or shaft driven.

Off the shelf BOLT ON REAR SECTIONS available for Harley Softail including Fatboy - Custom - Heritage - 1984-2002 / Sportster 1200

(there are a few we don't like to touch i.e. Dynaglide - FXR - Road king or any Harley that has the motor and gearbox rubber mounted)

The same suspension system is utilized on all motorcycles. The only difference will be the diff assembly depending on whether the vehicle is chain, belt or shaft driven.

We need all other Harley Davidson models (and other bikes) in the workshop to do the conversions

When we triked the Guzzi (above) we originally put a single rear seat on the back. The new owners wanted a dual rear seat for Tour work in Victoria so we sent one over to them and they did the change over themselves.
Story here BUT remember to use your browser arrows to get back here because a lot of the motor bike trike stuff is below.

SNOT OR MIG OR TIG WELDING.

what's the difference ?

IF YOU DON'T KNOW DON'T START.

IN THE WORKSHOP we do all sorts of busy stuff like welding steel bits together and measuring other bits so that they fit. The licensing people like us to do this because the wheels finish up in the right place. They also like the fact that we MIG weld everything. When you weld like this, as apart from snot welding, the tube may bend but the weld stays put if you hit a tree or sumpin' hard like Bandit did (see A One Armed Bandit story). We TIG weld the really really important bits so they look pretty as well.

AND DON'T FORGET THE JIG'S !

THEY HOLD EVERYTHING IN PLACE.

BUT ONCE YOU ARE ON THE ROAD

You really only need only two tools. WD-40 and duct tape...
If it doesn't move and it should - use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't - use the tape.

The first one. The year 1984. The Bike - Moto Guzzi 850 California. (above) The memories are good apart from one day when I was riding it and a weld on the frame broke. I never went back to the person who did the welding again after that, but it makes for an interesting story and was a lesson well learnt.

2002 HARLEY ROAD GLIDE

Below: Special order. This one was made for Jim Reed in California USA. Jim is a Paraplegic and he wanted us to lengthen the frame 9" so he could put the wheelchair on the back.  We couldn't get a belt to fit so we changed it to a chain driven unit.
